Clevernet is seeking a Cloud & Systems Engineer on a part-time contract basis, 2 days/week. The successful candidate will take a leading role in ensuring that Clevernet's infrastructure is secure, resilient and scalable. You will work as part of small but growing technical team developing our smart building platform and solutions. Our customers include Schools, Hotels, Offices & Government buildings all across Ireland & UK.

We are a new and fast growing IoT company, offering SaaS based services in Autonomous HVAC, wireless networking, IoT metering, environmental monitoring & sustainability solutions to make our customers buildings smarter & improve user experience.

This role is suited to someone with 2-3 years experience with a drive to enhance their career working with some of the UK & Irelands top brands.

Technical characteristics & experience
-
Demonstrable experience designing and operating systems in an AWS multi-service environment.
-
In particular, a good working knowledge of using AWS services, not limited to, but including EC2 (including load balancers), API Gateway, S3 and Lambda in a production environment .

A good understanding of architecting on AWS with an eye for optimisation of cost/reliabiilty and incorporating "secure-by-design" principles in a fast growth environment.

A curious attitude, always looking to learn and expand your technical skills.

Experience of Linux sysadmin skills.

A thorough understanding of systems security, theory and in practice.

Comfortable coding in a suitable language for sysadmin/deployment tasks such as deployment automation, automation of routine tasks (repeatable service patterns), etc.

Experience of basic relational database administration tasks, e.g. running MySQL or Postgres..

Configuration automation.
Nice to have
-
Relevant AWS certification (e.g. Certified Solutions Architect); however, demonstrable practical experience is equally desirable.

A working knowledge of Node.js.

A working knowledge of DNS zone administration.

Basic experience of Docker.

A working knowledge of code deployment pipelines, including git, testing frameworks etc.

Experience using AWS DynamoDB.
