PHP Laravel Developer

This role is primarily related to the development and maintenance of our Kernel platform for WiFI, energy and environmental monitoring. Kernel is at its core a Laravel application but also utilises various cloud services such as AWS IOT Core, DynamoDB, SNS, etc. While the requirements below relate to the Laravel portion of the system, preference will be given to applicants who have some experience of the additional components and/or the desire to learn about them.

Role : Laravel Developer

 

Requirements;

    • PHP and Laravel - required

    • Proficient in PHP 

    • Should have demonstrable experience creating and maintaining Laravel projects

    • Should be able to provide demo project code

    • Use, explain and demonstrate the use of routes, MVC classes, gates, middleware, artisan etc in Laravel

    • Familiarity with Blade for frontend views

    • Familiarity with composer

    • Writing tests

    • Familiar with use of Github or similar git repo for collaborative development 

    • Hosting concepts 

    • Comfortable with MySQL or other SQL backend

 

The following are desirable but not essential;

 

    • Familiarity with AWS EC2 

    • Familiarity with DynamoDB

    • Experience of other AWS services including CloudWatch, SQS, SES and IAM

    • Experience using Lambda with Node.js functions for serverless operation

    • Experience working with IoT sensors and customer dashboards.

 

Front end;

While this is primarily a backend role, some basic frontend skills are desirable. In particular,

 

    • Bootstrap CSS

    • Basic jQuery
